ADULT GROUP - MUSEE RODIN PARIS

The Musée Rodin is one of the most enchanting places in Paris. It is set in the Hôtel Biron, an 18th century mansion with a garden that covers nearly three hectares. The museum houses works by Auguste Rodin, and was recently renovated with a newly designed layout focusing on the artist’s creative process; the garden, laid out around monuments by Rodin, is a heaven of peace. The masterpieces on display include The Kiss and The Thinker as well as works by the famous French sculptor Camille Claudel. In 1908, Rodin moved into the Hôtel Biron where he also worked, exhibited and received visitors. A visit to the Musée Rodin will be a highlight of your stay in Paris.

From November the 5th 2019 to March the 22nd 2020, the musée Rodin will be holding the first monographic exhibition on the work of British sculptor Barbara Hepworth in Paris, in association with Tate. Though little known in France, Barbara Hepworth revolutionised sculpture with her development of a new aesthetic sensibility. Her abstract works, imbued with poetic purity, aspire to an ideal, peaceful world.

ALL GROUPS - MUSEE RODIN MEUDON

With its villa, sculpture studio and park, the Musée Rodin in Meudon provides a comprehensive introduction to Rodin’s life and art.

The visit begins with the Villa des Brillants, Rodin’s home for the last 20 years of his life. Near the villa is a “tactile gallery” where visitors can explore resin reproductions of sculptures by touch. Further down the garden, the plaster gallery offers an immersive experience of Rodin’s art: his sculptures are displayed in their successive states, illustrating the various stages of his creative process.

Rodin’s tomb, surmounted by The Thinker, is located in the vast park overlooking the Seine valley―a setting conducive to contemplation. The Musée Rodin in Meudon, where the sculptor once lived and worked, is also a place where the love of art is handed on, with a range of arts and culture education programs for young people of all ages and origins.
